Schaferhof is the home of Lore and Dieter Schafer. It is a large, quiet, country home, nestled in the woods on top of the Niagara Escarpment, not far from Niagara Falls. The Bruce Hiking Trail is just 2 km north, an easy walk from our front door!

The house was built in the early 1970s, and was purchased by your hosts in 1976. Dieter Schafer is a home builder by trade, and has made many changes to the house over the years.

In 1996, owing to the popularity of Schaferhof as a bed and breakfast, Lore and Dieter built a cottage beside the main house. The cottage has two large guest rooms, each with its own sliding glass door entrance and en suite bathrooms. The cottage is perfect for a family, or four people travelling together.

All our guests are welcome to enjoy our back yard and patio, which includes a large fire pit for barbequeing. One of our homegrown steaks tastes much better when grilled on a real wood fire!
